Djilobodji menandatangani kontrak selama empat musim bersama The Black Cats. Pemain 27 tahun tersebut menjadi pembelian pertama manajer anyar David Moyes.
Djilobodji bergabung dengan Chelsea pada musim panas tahun lalu, namun gagal menemukan tempat di skuat utama The Blues hingga dipinjamkan ke Werder Bremen di paruh kedua musim lalu. [initial]
