Ratu Elizabeth Meninggal Dunia, Premier League Ditunda?

Bola.net - Jumat (9/9/2022) dini hari WIB, Buckingham Palace mengumumkan bahwa Ratu Elizabeth meninggal dunia di usia 96 tahun. Britania Raya memasuki masa berduka.

Sebelumnya, Kamis (8/9) kemarin diumumkan bahwa kesehatan Ratu Elizabeth terus menurun. Ratu harus berada di bawah pengawasan medis intensif selama 24 jam.

Kondisi kesehatan Ratu tidak dijelaskan secara detail hingga akhirnya dilaporkan meninggal dunia. Ratu Elizabeth memimpin Britania Raya selama 70 tahun.

"Sang ratu meninggal dengan tenang di Istana Balmoral sore ini. Raja dan Permaisuri akan tetap di Barmoral malam ini dan akan kembali ke London besok," tulis pengumuman yang dibuat Buckingham Palace.

Akankah Premier League ditunda?

Mengutip Daily Star, kepergian Ratu Elizabeth berarti Britania Raya akan memasuki period of mourning, alias masa-masa berduka. Artinya, ada kemungkinan setiap aktivitas rekreasional dan keolahragaan akan ditunda.

Premier League pun mungkin terdampak. Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) akan berdiskusi dengan Premier League terkait pengambilan sikap dan keputusan.

Sebenarnya tidak ada aturan khusus bahwa olahraga harus dihentikan sementara atau ditunda. Jadi, keputusan tergantung pada masing-masing penyelenggara, termasuk Premier League dan FA.

Biar begitu, DCMS mengonfirmasi bahwa setiap aktivitas keolahragaan yang dijadwalkan pada hari pemakaman Ratu harus ditunda atau dijadwalkan ulang.

Hingga artikel ini mengudara, belum ada pengumuman resmi soal penentuan waktu pemakaman sang Ratu. Premier League juga belum mengumumkan penundaan resmi, hanya mengonfirmasi akan segera membuat keputusan terkait situasi duka ini.
