Senin (12/7/2021), duel sengit Italia vs Inggris berlangsung di Wembley Stadium. Inggris unggul terlebih dahulu lewat gol cepat Luke Shaw di menit ke-2, Italia menyamakan kedudukan melalui Leonardo Bonucci di menit ke-67.

Skor 1-1 lantas terkunci hingga akhir 90 menit dan tetap tidak ada perubahan setelah 120 menit. Laga pun dilanjutkan ke babak adu penalti.

Inggris memasuki adu penalti dengan percaya diri, sayangnya tiga eksekutor mereka gagal, Italia pun jadi juara. Hasil ini jadi tamparan besar untuk fans Inggris yang sudah yakin dengan gagasan it's coming home.
